"Melenia Feta" - Honeyed Feta Cheese

Step by step

When we say that feta matches everything... we do mean it!

Prepare two slices of feta cheese, about 1-1.5cm thick, so it does not “break up”.

Spread the flour, egg & sesame mix in three different dishes. Soak the cheese slices & then dip them in turn, in the flour, egg & then sesame seeds.

Heat some olive oil in a small pan. Carefully place the slices in the hot pan. Heat a little on both sides until a thick crust is formed & the cheese softens on the inside without melting.

Place the slices on a plate & sprinkle with honey.

Serve immediately for a special “honeyed-cheese” delight!

Enjoy this delicious appetizer with some good tsipouro...

200g Feta Cheese (P.D.O.)

1 Egg (lightly beaten)

A little bit of Flour

1 cup Sesame Seeds & “Mavrokouki” (Black Sesame Seeds) at a ratio of 3:1

40g Pine Honey

A bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil for frying
