Behind each “Agrino” grain there hides a unique story,
made up of special people…
“Agrino” is a Greek company with more than 65 years of experience in the rice business. Its vision has always been to offer consumers products that are safe, healthy, & of stable quality, with nutritional value, mainly cultivated in Greece, with respect towards the environment & the traditional cultivation techniques. The essence of “Agrino’s” technological innovation is firstly the development of a cooperation model with the Greek farmers, which promotes the sustainability of their cultivation methods, but also the support to Greece’s rural areas & economies, thus contributing to the development of these regions. The focus is on Greek cultivations, sustainable production processes & close cooperation with the farmers who apply precision agriculture. Given that Greece, due to its limited size but rich biodiversity, has a tradition of producing quality rather than quantity, “Agrino” has dedicated itself to supporting quality. 20% of Greece’s rice production is absorbed by “Agrino”, & “Agrino” has managed this 20% to be cultivated as per the international standard called GLOBALGAP (Global Good Agricultural Practice). GLOBALGAP ensures safe products, sustainable production methods, recorded cultivation, absence of pesticide residues, well-being & safety of growers, traceability & protection of the environment.
“Agrino” brings all the nutritional values of the Greek soil to your plate by producing all types of rice, white, brown & parboiled from the best Greek rice varieties. The Agrino rice products stand out for their unique taste that remains intact in the distinctive stand-up packaging with the window from where you can see the content. “Kastano Rizi Parboiled” is a Greek brown parboiled medium-grain rice cultivated in Western Macedonia. It is ideal for stuffed vegetables, but also for creamy risottos, hearty soups & indulgent desserts. Parboiling involves partial boiling of the husked rice & is done in three steps: soaking, steaming & drying. The parboiling process moves the micronutrients contained in the bran, making parboiled rice more nutritious than brown rice. Parboiled rice is firmer & less sticky when cooked.
