“Everything happens when it’s meant to!” (Greek saying)
Sadly, nowadays, the knowledge of when the natural ripening & gathering time of a vegetable or a fruit occurs tends to disappear since everything can be found “fresh” on the shelves during the whole year round but without “real flavour”.
“Mala Peruviana, Orange Tomato” is a juice that comes from grated fresh orange tomatoes, which are selectively hand-collected from outdoor cultivation at the right time of the season. To preserve it throughout the year, a tiny amount of sea salt is added & the fresh juice is bottled & immediately pasteurized. The “Orange Tomato” has a more “creamy & sweet” taste compared to the “Naked Tomato”.
“Mala Peruviana” meaning “Bad Peruvian”, due to historic evidence that animals were poisoned by eating the leaves of the tomato plant, containing atropine when it first arrived in Europe. When the people tasted the fruit though, they discovered its great flavour & nutritional value, constituting it an important part of their diet.
Drink it straight from the bottle, combine it in cocktails or
simply use it in every cooking recipe demanding tomato juice!
