From the Top of the Vines…
The Kazakis Family is a member of “Slow Food” & participates in all the movements’ acts. They are the specialists in vineyard’s products since due to their ecological consciousness nothing is casted off from their vineyards. The exceptional quality of their products is recognized annually at “Great Taste Awards” & they have been granted the “Great Taste Producer” badge.
The vine tops are the small tendrils that the vine is using for support & attach. Nowadays, they are of minor importance due to the intricate trellis systems in the vineyard. At Kazakis Family owned organic vineyards they decided to collect them in May when they are still soft & offer to you the absolute “mezedaki” (small mezze). The tops are immediately cooked with care & tender love in the family’s production unit. Then they are pickled using the traditional recipe with pure sea salt & Marianna’s organic must vinegar becoming crunchy & flavoursome. A perfect match to your tsipouro or ouzo or a unique tasty addition & decoration touch to your salads.
