Sakis remembers himself in the beehives from childhood since his father Isidoros is a beekeeper since 1985. He loved their society & learned to respect bees & their way of life from an early age & that is how he decided to become a beekeeper too. He studied Agronomy & Food Technology in order to develop his knowledge in various beekeeping practices. One of the first changes he wanted to introduce to the family business was the standardization of the honey & the development of his own brand. In 2016, together with his wife Annie, that is a graphic designer, they created the “BEEKEEPER FAMILY Papadopoulos” brand. Isidoros & Sakis Papadopoulos, the father & the son, the 2 beekeeping generations, the big & the small beehives next to each other! The next change was the organic honey certification since all their beekeeping methods & practices have followed the principles of organic beekeeping for years. So, they officially joined organic beekeeping in 2019 & since the end of 2020, they are certified for the production of natural organic honey.
“BEEKEEPER FAMILY Papadopoulos” produces organic natural honey from their own beehives following nomadic beekeeping with respect & love for nature & people. After many years of research on the biodiversity in areas of Northern & Central Greece, they travel their bees to selected locations with the appropriate microclimate, in order to produce 6 different varieties of organic honey with specific characteristics & quality, achieving a high percentage of pollen grains that will give rich aroma & special taste in the honey they produce. Papadopoulos family highly values the importance of sustainable & healthy living, committed to bringing to life the best organic products of high quality & nutritional value enhancing wellbeing.
“Organic Oak Honey” is a very balanced honey with strong antioxidant action & rich in trace elements. Its colour varies from dark brown to black depending on the vintage year. It has aromas of strong intensity & an intense taste with an aftertaste that leaves notes of citrus & lemon.
