“Mousiou” products are a trademark of Argos Orestiko, Kastoria. It is where this magical journey began when Adamousios Tzotzas decided to deal with the world of handmade sweets in 1895, with his vision… to treat everyone with the most delicious & artisanal products. Nowadays, the 3rd generation creates with the same love & passion exceptional handmade sweets in the laboratory with copper cauldrons & wooden spatulas where everything smells like the good old days.

“Ypovrihio Vanilia” aka “Sweet Submarine Vanilla” is one of the most traditional sweets of Greece. Its texture should be velvety & its colour should be off-white. Using sugar, aroma & a little bit of glucose the result is perfect. First, the sugar with the glucose are boiled & as soon as the mixture sets, the aroma is added. It needs to cool down a bit & then the process starts to get its final colour. That is where it takes patience to “work” it as much as it is needed to be ready to go into the jars & sit on the shelf until you enjoy it in a glass of ice water!
