“Menikio Agricultural Cooperative” is a unique vertically integrated dairy company, with deep respect towards tradition & nature. Every step of the production process “from farm to shelf” is entirely under their supervision. From the feed crop & the livestock breeding; to the daily milk collection & the final production. This is how they are able to offer dairy products of high nutritional value, exceptional quality & unmatched taste for the whole family to enjoy. The feed storage, livestock & production units are located in the valley of Prosotsani, under the shadow of Mt Menikio. The location has been deliberately chosen, not only because of its rich & fertile soil; but also because of the constant breeze blowing down from a nearby gorge, creating a natural ventilation system. This is why the air is always fresh around the livestock unit, even though it houses a few thousands of sheep & goats. The biggest advantage of the unit’s location though is that it is surrounded by 25 acres of its own organic-grown grass field, where the sheep & goats are free to roam & graze.
“ΒΙΟ Paradosiako Katsikisio Giaourti” is one of the most nutritious products of the Mediterranean diet. It is a completely naturally fermented product from Menikio’s organic goat milk. The fresh milk is pasteurized & divided into plastic cups that are inoculated with the traditional yoghurt culture & left to ferment in temperature-controlled rooms. During the fermentation, the bacteria form a characteristic skin on the surface of the yoghurt where they remain alive & offer their health benefits at consumption. The natural fermentation gives to the product its unique rich flavour, aroma & texture next to the beneficial properties for the human body.
